I received an email from my first host family this past Friday! I will be living in Parkuranga, just outside out Auckland proper and I'll be attending Pakuranga College. My new school boasts 2200 students and 20 acres; my current school has 1500 and well, zero!
Having a city to call my future home and being able to put a face to a host family (they attached a lovely photo) is making this experience seem all the more real. This weekend, Rotary held a weekend to prepare us for any problems that may arise (amongst other things). One of the Rotarians asked if everything they were telling me was making me nervous about going, on the contrary, I would be ready to go tomorrow!
